COMPLETE BATTING CAGE
(except poles)

We use knotted nylon only, not poly net.  This is mainly a personal choice.  I like the way nylon hangs on the cage.  Knotted nylon is more expensive than poly, so when shopping compare "apples" to "apples" so to speak.  For example, #21 poly net is about 30% weaker than #21 nylon.

All batting cages come with netting, all connectors for the frame, and a complete L-screen, poles for the L-screen are included.  You buy the 10' EMT frame poles locally.
Cage type and length Price Shipping Total
#21 gauge, 40' long, w/ L-screen, no poles 485 70 555
#21 gauge, 50' long, w/ L-screen, no poles 567 75 642
#21 gauge, 60' long, w/ L-screen, no poles 649 80 729
#21 gauge, 70' long, w/ L-screen, no poles 732 85 817

Burst Strength:

  #21 gauge - 800 lbs/mesh (200 lbs/strand)

As a trial, I recently purchased some #36.  I have a limited supply, but can get more if needed.  While #21 is plenty strong, some high school and college teams may want the heavier #36.

#36 gauge, 40' long, w/ L-screen, no poles 655 90 745
#36 gauge, 50' long, w/ L-screen, no poles 765 100 865
#36 gauge, 60' long, w/ L-screen, no poles 876 115 991
#36 gauge, 70' long, w/ L-screen, no poles 988 135* 1123

Burst Strength:

   #36 gauge - 1280 lbs/mesh (320 lbs/ strand)

* The #36 70' cage ships in two boxes:  one for the netting and connectors, the other contains the L-screen.  UPS only ships up to 150 pounds and the 70' cage in one box is over the limit.

40' requires 23 poles, cost $92 (approx. $4 per pole)

Pole Prices:

  50' requires 28 poles, cost $112
  60' requires 33 poles, cost $132
    70' requires 38 poles, cost $152

Without Pole Price -- What you get.  If you live outside the Treasure Valley in Idaho I cannot ship the poles economically.  Hence, I discount the price of the cage by the price of the poles.   I ship UPS ground.  They do not ship anything over 9' long and the poles are 10' long.  Shipped in one box is the cage netting, cage connectors, L-screen netting, L-screen connectors, L-screen poles, extra twine, and assembly instructions.  You then buy the poles locally.  They are standard 10' long, you don't have to cut or bend them or anything. They are ready to go off the shelf.  The poles are 3/4" EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) and are available in hardware and electrical supply stores everywhere, such as Home Depot and Lowe's.  These poles are galvanized steel pipe, not plastic. They are what electrical contractors use in buildings for the wiring.  There are two kinds of EMT, rigid and thin wall. You want to buy thin wall. You do not want rigid.

With and Without Poles...huh??
There has been some confusion in the past about the with and without pole price.  The cage currently ships in one box and unless otherwise indicated I ship UPS ground.  The only reason I don't ship the poles is it is just too expensive.  If I ship the poles I have to use a truck line.  I've checked various truck lines and the minimum shipping charge for LTL (less than truck load) is anywhere from $250 to $400.  It just doesn't make good economic sense to ship an item where the shipping cost is about 6 times the value of the item, especially when that item, 3/4" EMT in this case, is very common.

Add $9 to ship the cage COD.  Idaho residents add 6% sales tax.  Shipping charges without poles apply to all states except Alaska and Hawaii.  UPS now offers "ground" to these two states (not sure what that means to Hawaii).  However, the rates are higher for these two states.  Call for rates.

I can ship internationally.  Call for rates.  I have cages in France, Germany, Curacao, Canada, Puerto Rico, Norway, and New Zealand, to name a few.
